New Honda Gen Sets Range (270w-1c)/font>
Honda PE has launched a versatile new mid-size generator range suitable for a raft of applications in the home, worksite and even leisure pursuits. Powered by Honda GX engines, the five “EP”models range in output from 2200kVA to 5500kVA.
The EP2200CX (2200kVA - GX160), EP3100CX (31kVA-GX240), EP4500CX (4500kVA-GX340), EP5500CX and EP5500CXS (5500kVA–GX390) all feature large capacity fuel tanks for extended operating time, as well as the convenience of fuel gauges. EP units have anti-vibration engine mounts and large noise-suppressing mufflers.
Stable power delivery comes courtesy of Honda's Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) system that automatically compensates for fluctuations when the generator's load changes.
For functionality and added safety, an AC/DC circuit breaker and oil alert light are standard on all models, while an easy-to-use control panel features 15 amp sockets, battery charger and circuit protector. Equipped with a full steel frame to ensure engine protection and aid transportation, the EP range is also available with an optional four wheel dolly kit.
The top of the range EP5500CX and EP5500CXS have a maximum output of 5500kVA and are powered by the mighty Honda GX390 engine. These two models offer the added capacity to run air compressors up to eight cubic feet per minute in blowing capacity, 140 Amp welders and 2 hp electric motors.
All Honda generators feature Honda's easy start technology for hassle-free starting even after long periods in storage, and operate on standard unleaded fuel for greater convenience compared to two-strokes. For added convenience, electric start is optional on the EP5500CXS.

ScanHi PowerGuard Gen Sets (250w-1c)/font>
Melbourne generator manufacturer ScanHi has expanded its range of “PowerGuard” controlled gen sets. PowerGuard systems are used to automatically control OPE like pumps and generators. PowerGuard control systems automatically start the generator after mains failure or a predetermined demand requires that the generator begin operation. This is especially useful for back-up power systems. The units can also be used in conjunction with ScanHi’s wireless remote controllers that allow an operator to start and stop the unit from up to 50m using a simple hand-held tool similar to a car auto-lock controller.
Honda’s EU30is generator features a microcomputer-controlled sinewave inverter that guarantees commercial-quality electricity – making it ideal for use with frequency sensitive electrical equipment such as computers. The 3kVA unit uses a high-speed multi-point alternator that is integrated into the reducing weight and size by 25% - 50%. Output is max 3kW/240AC or 12A/12V DC.
The EU30is also features an Eco-throttle that adjusts the engine speed to meet the load demand. This increases fuel economy whilst also reducing noise as the engine is not required to run at full capacity unnecessarily.
The generator is Parallel Connection capable. This allows two EU30i’s to be quickly and easily linked using a special parallel connection cable to double output to 6kVA. With electric-starting and enough power to be used in a wide range of home, recreational and professional uses, the EU30is incorporates all of Honda’s portable power technology.

Toro Titan Z - Z5200 (200w-1c)/font>
The gap between consumer and commercial Zero Turns is continually diminishing as is demonstrated by Toro’s new “Titan Z” Range. Ostensibly “Consumer” units, Titan Zs have 10cm (4”) deep, fully welded, 10-gauge steel decks with 2.5cm x 6mm (1” x ¼”) steel reinforcing strips along the leading edge. Built around a 5cm x 5cm (2” x 2”) box steel frame (12mm/1/2" larger than most comparable units) Titan Zs are powered by B&S ELS V-twins and use HydroGear’s new, high-load ZT2800 hydrostatic transmissions.
The 121cm & 1320cm (48” & 52”) cutter decks has a foot-operated height adjustment system that allows the operator to easily lift the deck to change the minimum cut level or quickly raise the deck during operation to avoid scalping in uneven terrain. A maintenance free deck castor wheel assembly incorporates sealed bearings, for long life and smooth rotation regardless of the terrain.
Titan Z’s three-spring absorption system combines with an 18” high-back seat (adjustable armrests) to give a most comfortable ride. Ergonomic hydraulic control-lever dampers provide smooth drive engagement, eliminating “jerky” operation while reducing operator arm fatigue.
Toro Titan Zs are distributed by: Toro L&C division, 1/13 Downard Street, Braeside 3195; (03) 9580 7355, 1-800 033 531 F: (03) 9580 7399 W: www.toro.com.au.

Spider Remote Controlled Slope Mower (180w-1c)/font>
Inlon has released a revolutionary new mower machine. The Spider is a remote controlled self-propelled unit designed for the maintenance of steeply sloping areas such as embankments, roadsides and hillsides. These areas are traditionally maintained by teams of brushcutter operators or tractor-powered reach-flail mowers.
The Spider is a one-man operation that is transported to its worksite in its purpose-built trailer and towed simply by car or utility. It drives itself off the trailer and into work within minutes. The Operator stands away from the machine and is not required to exert himself to push, steer or swing the machine. This reduces the likelihood of strains and slips. It is not weight-bearing on the operator, is less tiring and exposes the operator to less noise and vibration compared to conventional pedestrian mowing alternatives.
The Spider also boasts impressive productivity of up to 1.8 acres/hour because of its speed, cutting width and special cutting techniques.
Spider is distributed by Inlon, 17 Catamaran Road, Ourimbah 2258 (PO Box 387 Swansea 2281); (02) 4389 1477 F: (02) 4389 1478 E: mail@inlon.com.au W www.inlon.com.au.
