Big Dog R Series PowerBar Big Dog R Series PowerBar
Big Dog has released a new version of its R Series ZT mowers incorporating “PowerBar” controls. The PowerBar system is similar to riding a motorcycle. All speed and direction controls are hand operated on the T-shaped handlebar. R Series ZTs have engine options of 15.7kW/21hp, 17.9kW/24hp and 19.4kW/26hp Kawasaki FR Series petrol engines through HydroGear ZT3100 transaxles. They have maximum speeds of 12.9km/h (8mph forward) and 8km/h (5mph reverse) backed by hydrostatic dynamic braking.

The three engines each power a different deck: 122cm/48” (21hp), 137cm/54” (24hp) & 152cm/60” (26hp). The 10cm (4”) deep decks are made from 11-gauge (.3cm) welded steel with 11-gauge doublers welded onto spindle mount areas and solid 2.5cm x .64cm (1”x .25”) steel reinforcing front and trimming edges. Drive motors are mounted to .120 in (.45 cm) welded steel and front caster wheels are mounted with roller bearings on each wheel. The mowers are available with mulching and rear collection options from APW Imports, (03) 9874 0442 F: (03) 9874 0462 W: www.apwimports.com.au.
