Honda MPE celebrated the company’s 60th Anniversary at its Power Equipment Dealer Meetings.
Honda began manufacturing its first motorcycle in 1948. Five years later, the H-Type engine was released, marking Honda's entry into power products.
The events in Melbourne, Sydney, Gold Coast and Perth provided Dealers with a company update and performance review, while celebrating strong sales results and announcing new marketing initiatives.
Honda MPE MD Stuart Strickland began proceedings with an entertaining review of Honda’s history before outlining future direction, in light of global issues including climate change and rising fuel prices.
“Honda's is dedicated to R&D with technologies as diverse as solar, hybrid-electric and hydrogen,” he said.
“Despite strong competition and persistent dry conditions across many areas of the country, the last 12-months have proven to be particularly successful for Honda Power Equipment,” Honda PE National Sales Manager Ray Briffa said.
The program included presentations from high profile guest speakers including a business coach and a merchandiser who gave Dealers valuable insight into store layout and presentation.

Ray Briffa announced an aggressive advertising and marketing campaign for this season including television and print media, complemented by a PR program and eye-catching new Point-of-Sale material. Other presentations covered training seminars, spare parts and service matters.
Dealers were also informed of an incentive program, which will take this financial year's top 60 Honda PE Dealers on a Japanese study tour. Each meeting concluded with an awards ceremony and gala dinner. This year’s national top Honda PE Dealer Award went to The Honda Shop in WA.
“Despite a significant increase in Honda sales across the country, this award is only bestowed to the dealership that achieves the largest sales volume of the full range of Honda MPE supplied power equipment for a single dealership,” Ray Briffa explained when presenting the award.
